Kayak Festival

Our annual kayak festival is held on the beautiful beach behind the Capri Fish House Restaurant where Saltwater Sports offers rentals and tours. We raffle new kayaks, hold races, a fishing tournament, treasure hunt and give paddlers of all ages and abilities the chance to see and play with a variety of kayaks. All events, except the fishing tournament, are FREE.

Play Days

Play days offer an opportunity to try out various kayaks. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the sport or about a boat you've never tried. Free lessons are offered throughout the day, and you'll meet many people from all walks of life who love kayaking and kayak fishing.

Day Trips

Trips are offered throughout the year on an almost weekly basis. The trips favor all ability levels. Visit the Paddler Forum or Fishing Forum to learn about the latest events coming up. If you're interested in any trip, we ask that you CALL the trip organizer to find out details about the event. Trips are sometimes changed or cancelled, and the organizer must speak to you to determine your ability level and explain any special details about the trip.

One of our signature events is the annual Win Turner Turner River Trip on the -- you guessed it -- Turner River. The trip organizer, Win Turner, leads the excursion every November.

Camping Trips

Camping trips, like day trips are offered constantly. These trips often cover longer distances. Trips range from excursions into the Ten Thousand Islands to the rivers of of central Florida. We even offer camping trips out of town. CALL the trip organizer if you're intersted in one of the camping trips listed in the forums.

Fishing Tournaments

Fishing tournaments are listed in the Fishing Forum. The forum hosts an online fishing tournament in which participants take photos and post details of their catches whenever they go out. We also hold several official tournaments throughout the year.

CPR and First Aid Classes

Our club's first priority is safety, and several members are certified CPR and First Aid instructors. We partner with the Golden Gate Fire District to provide this training to you. Training is offered at various times of the year, and we charge a fee. A portion of that fee is donated to the club, and the remainder is paid to the instructor.
